Off to the big smoke!

This weekend we went all the way down to London. We went to see Katherine & Phil and their new baby Emmeline. I had to learn a new sign so that I could keep telling everyone that there was a baby. It was very exciting! I also saw Harris again, but unfortunately not Hannah. Oh, well, maybe next time! Then we went to see all the fishes (can do that sign too!) and the scarey sharks in the acquarium. Lots of fun.

Now when I fall over I can stand up without crawling over to something I can pull myself up on! I am so clever. I have also discovered that if I get something that Mummy wants back and she chases me, I can run and screech with excitement at the same time!!!

Now I have worked out how to bend over and pick things up off the floor. It doesn't always work, but I think practise will fix that!

I have discovered that I can solve problems. For example, Danny learnt to get in the bath by himself about 3 weeks ago. I watched him, slept on it and then practised in my clothes!! Now I have to be restrained while Mummy takes my clothes off and runs the water so that I don't just get in when I am ready!

We have all went off on holiday again - this time to Wales. Lots of exciting things have happened while we have been here: I have said Mummy (over and over and over again!), I have found my sixth tooth and I can now communicate with my Brother. Mummy has been teaching me some signs and I can do bird and duck and have also learnt to roar like a lion! I like to roar in the back of the car with Danny. Daddy is not so keen!

Walking walking all the time!

Now when I fall over I pull myself back up again. I have also discovered that I can walk and hold hands with Danny - we look very cute together!!

Now I can walk without holding hands or anything. When I fall over I forget though and carry on crawling. If Mummy picks me up then I walk again, but only until I fall over!

Today I discovered that I get a brilliant reaction if I shout DADDA a lot. I got cuddles from Daddy, but for some reason Mummy looked jealous!

Today I went to nursery by myself for a whole day. It was very tiring and I missed Mummy and Daddy and Danny but we had fun and I cam home covered in paint!

Granny & Grandpa & G-Grandma's new house

Today we went to see the new house that G & G & G-G have moved into. It has a lovely garden and big front drive - which Daddy thinks will be good for bikes when we are a bit older! It has a boys room for Danny and Max and a girls room for me and Leo. G-Gma has a little house all to herself with a shower and everything!

Today Mummy took me to nursery and left me. That mae me sad, but she thinks that I will enjoy it once I get used to it. I am not sure. Danny said that I am a big girl now - does that mean I can eat chocolate when he does?!!!

Today we are off to Scotland on holiday. We are staying in one of Grandma and Grandad's HPB places and it is right next to the loch. This means we have lovely views but lots of midges. I am not keen on them as they keep going in my mouth! We are going to a safari park and a castle and lots of other exciting things!

My 1st Birthday Party

Today I had my first birthday party! I had lots of kisses and cuddles from my family. I wore a dress that Granny had made for me. It was very pretty and the belt was very tasty! My Grandma and Grandad, my Uncle Neil and Auntie Lisa and Cousin Ben and Cousin Erin and Uncle Mike and Auntie Caroline and Cousin Ben all came as well as Becky and Nelson and Archie. They all bought me lovely presents and I had a yummy chocolate cake.

I can swim - kind of!!

Today I had my last lesson in a series of 12 and for the first time I let go of Mummy and made progress through the water. Unfortunately, then I rolled over and spluttered and coughed a lot! I am very proud of myself though and enjoyed practising by letting go of the side whenever Mummy looked away and trying to get to her. I still roll over quite a lot but it is lots of fun.

Today I worked out that if I turn the washing basket upside down, push it across to the work surface and climb up on it then I can stand up and reach really high. This means that I can reach all sorts of dangerous things. Lots of fun for me, not much fun for Mummy!

I can go really quickly now pushing my walker. I zoom up and down the landing and then screech to be turned round. Mummy is hoping that I learn to steer soon!

Mummy took me to Clarks today to buy me my first pair of shoes. They are bright pink and Mummy confused the poor lady in the shop by asking for brown or black! I like them though!

I have discovered that if I crawl across to things then I can use them to pull myself up to standing. Mummy is very impressed as I have only been crawling for 3 days!

Today I had my first swimming lesson. It was a bit scarey to start with, but Mummy kept hold of me and I laughed lots at the splashing and the singing. I can't wait to go again.

Today, Mummy took me for my first hair cut. It cost £2 and all the lady did was trim the bits over my ears and at the back! Surely Mummy could do that herself?

I can get up on my hands and knees and rock backwards and forwards. Apparently it strengthens my back muscles, but I do it because I like it!

I have worked out how to turn circles on my tummy and I can also go backwards. I can now get to more things that Danny has moved but I am looking forward to going forward!

Today we went in an aeroplane to see Auntie Kate, Uncle Klemens, Max and Leonie. It was lots of fun to see my cousins and I liked playing with all of their toys. We got to go to Max's birthday party and bounce on his trampoline. We were there for Leo's birthday as well, but I don't think she really noticed!

I am getting fatter again!! Mummy still has to bring me back in a few weeks to check I am still putting on weight, but I am back on my curve (whatever that means!). Hope this doesn't mean I have to stop eating two yoghurts a day and cheese sauce on everything!

To be honest, I was perfectly happy with the paper - which was a good job as Danny played with all my presents as soon as they were unwrapped!! Still, I had a lovely day and wore my beautiful new dress that Daddy bought for me when he was shopping in America.

I went to Thomas' birthday party today with Danny. Ben was there as well and we had a lovely time together. I spent a lot of time on my tummy but also managed to bang my head on one of THomas' toys as you can see from my photo!!!

Today I managed to get from my back onto my tummy but I couldn't free my arm and I ended up with my nose squished on the laminate floor. Mummy rescued me, but I haven't tried it again yet. If only Mummy and Daddy would lie me down facing the tv then I wouldn't have to try and roll over in the first place!!!

Today I decided that I didn't like Mummy putting me on my tummy so I learnt to roll back onto my back. Mummy thought it was a fun game so she kept putting me back onto my tummy. I played along for about 10 minutes and then decided to start screaming instead of rolling!! In the future I will only do it when Mummy is not watching...

Another beach holiday...

Today, Mummy and Daddy took Danny and I on another holiday. We went on a long journey (I slept a lot!!) and saw Granny, Grandpa and Great-Grandma on the way down. When we got there, it was a lovely hotel and there were lots of other babies and children for me to look at. I got to share a bedroom with Danny and it was very comforting to chat with him at bedtime!!
I wasn't too keen on the beach in Cornwall as it was very windy. I preferred to just go to sleep most days. I was very impressed with my Mummy though because she had a surfing lesson and managed to stand up on the board after less than two hours teaching - clever mummy!!!!

Today Mummy took me to baby massage and let me roll around naked for a while she rubbed oil all over me!!! It was lovely but made me very tired so I slept brilliantly afterwards.

Last night I managed to sleep from 11pm until 4am!! Mummy had 6 hours unbroken sleep for the first time since I was born. Apparently this is a big deal and I got a super cuddle!!!

Today we went on a long journey to a different country - Wales!!! I slept most of the way and it rained quite a lot, but now we are here and the sun is out. I have met four new members of my family, including two that I think might be quite fun to play with if I could only work out how to lift my head....
I have had lots of cuddles from my Auntie Kate and my Granny and Grandpa are here as well. The only thing I am not so sure about is the combination of sun cream and sand, it is not very comfy at all.

When Daddy got me up for my late night feed tonight, I got to meet more new people - Kat and Phil had come to see me and brought some beautiful outfits. I am not big enough to wear them yet, but I can't wait until I am! They are going to stay all weekend so I am looking forward to getting lots of cuddles and trying to be sick in Kat's new handbag!!!!

It was Daddy's last day of holiday today before he returns to work full time. As a treat, we all went to a safari park for the day. Mummy made the mistake of feeding me when I was mostly asleep and not really interested. I then got my own back by throwing it all back up again all over me, the car seat and the car!! Mummy even had to change my nappy as I was soaking. Danny was very proud of me, but thought that the effect would have been even better if I had waited until the car was inside the lion enclosure. Oh well, I will have to try and do better next time.....

Great Grandma

Mummy and Daddy took Danny and I down to Cheltenham to meet my Great Grandma today. She is 99 and very proud of the fact that she is nearly 100! I also got to see my Granny and Grandpa again and Granny even gave me my bottle!
Jane managed to squeeze in a cuddle before dashing off North to see No-no which was lovely. She has given me some lovely presents and they are small enough for me to wear which makes Mummy happy as there are matching knickers involved.

Mummy has just found out the definition of a growth spurt. Apparently Danny never had one of these, but I think I am going to do it lots! All I have to do is eat loads every two hours and make Mummy very tired.

Mummy fed me for the last time today. She has been expressing since we went back into hospital, but wanted to try and get me to breastfeed again. She has been trying, but I am not interested as it is much easier to drink from the bottle. It hurts Mummy and makes her stressed as well, so it doesn't seem like a very good idea to me. I am quite happy to drink formula as long as it is ready made, I am not keen on the powder type.

Home time again... and messy hands and feet

Mummy is feeling a bit better after four days of intravenous antibiotics so we are going to go home. She has very sensibly decided to start expressing and bottle feeding me. Now I am getting much more food and Mummy is much calmer and not in so much pain.
Daddy took me out today for my first outing without Mummy. We went to John Lewis in the Trafford Centre to get my hand and foot prints taken. The midwives in the hospital thought Daddy was a bit mad to take both his children shopping when the youngest was only 12 days old, but we had a lovely time until I threw up all over myself and the car seat!!!

Mummy is not very well. She has a suspected abcess from mastitis and has been re-admitted to hospital. I am staying with her to keep her company. I quite like it as it is very quiet and I get lots of cuddles because Mummy doesn't have anything else to do. The only problem is that I am finding it really difficult to feed and I think it is hurting Mummy.

When I woke up from my nap this afternoon, I got to meet Uncle Neil, Auntie Lisa and Cousin Ben, Uncle Mike, Auntie Caroline and Cousin Thomas as well as see Grandma and Grandad again. I got lots more presents and Danny got some too. He especially likes his Thomas the Tank Engine, but I only like it when he drives it on the floor, not when he drives it on me!

Today, Mummy and Daddy took me to the registery office to register me. I now have a birth certificate, which is important because it means that Daddy can get open my child trust fund!

Today the doctor came to see me and Mummy and said that we can go home!!!!! Mummy has been telling me all about my nursery and the rest of my new home. I am not sure though, I liked the warm wet one.
When we got home Becky, Nelson and Archie came to see me and gave me some lovely pressies. I also got lots of cuddles - being at home isn't too bad!

Meeting Grandma and Grandad

Today, Grandma and Grandad came to see me. They have been looking after Danny today, but I am sure it was just an excuse so that they could come and have a cuddle! I have been busy eating all day today except for one gap of 6 hours where Mummy got a bit worried. The midwives told her to let me be though and i was quite grateful for the rest - being born yesterday and trying to learn to eat is all very tiring!

Well, I waited very patiently until the day that the doctor wanted me to come out and now, here I am!! I was born at 10.03 this morning weighing 7lb 3oz. I am a little bit heavier than my brother Danny was, but then he came out a week early.
Mummy didn't pass out or throw up during the section, so she was very pleased with the whole experience. When the doctor passed me to the midwife and told Mummy & Daddy that I was a girl, Mummy cried and made her tummy wobble so that the doctor couldn't see what she was doing!
I had a lovely cuddle with Mummy in recovery while we were waiting for her blood pressure to come back up off the floor and even had a little snack. Then it was back into the ward to rest and wait for the whoozy things to wear off. I quite liked the eating thing, so I might do that again soon.
This afternoon, Granny and Grandpa brought Danny to come and meet me. He seemed to be more interested in pushing all the trolleys around than in looking at me, although he did give me a lovely kiss. Granny and Grandpa brought lots of lovely presesnts, but I was quite tired, so I let Mummy unwrap them.

21 week scan photo

All is well, we had another detailed scan (like the one with Danny) with the top radiographer. He is happy that all is well with baby, so now we have had our last appointment at QMC.

Week 18 - Mummy is worrying again!!

After a few weeks of worrying, we organised another scan to go and check on the baby. Unfortunately, Keith wasn't able to come to this one, but all is well. Now we are looking forward to the detailed scan to count fingers and toes.

Week 12 - Dating scan

Our first scan in the normal antenatal unit showed us (still, but i needed to count again!) one healthy looking baby with a nice strong heart beat, so all is still well!!

Week 8 - First look at baby

Our first look is at our 8 week scan. They call it a "reassurance scan" as it is the first time you get to see the heart beat.
